DOCTOR OF MISSIOLOGY - korean

Korean D.Miss program was initiated by Dr. Kuemju Lee, the current Director of the Korean program in dialogue with MBTS leadership in early 2011. This program is hosted by Global Missionary Fellowship, Inc.

Faculty members

The program has been taught by Korean adjunct professors of the MBTS, such as Drs. Steve Moon, Felipe Byun, Andrew Eum, Jumsik Ahn, Tai Woong Lee (David), Michael Kim and Joohee Lee along with two visiting faculties from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in the US, Drs. Jim Plueddemann (Leading Across Cultures) and Craig Ott (Encountering Theology of Mission).

Uniqueness

1. All of the subjects are taught in teams of professors except two visiting professors. In this way, colleagues receive a greater variety of content/viewpoints in addition to various opinions they are exposed through discussion and workshops.

2. Only 12 persons are selected in each of the academic period extending to three years plus dissertation writing period. Each colleague will receive full and extended attention by both professors as well as strong bound they create with each other. This gives the colleagues the opportunity to form and extend life-long learning and teaching community even after they graduate.

3. Founding vision is to raise up future leaders of their own organizations that each of the colleagues are representing. Therefore, there is a strong emphasis on global leadership; thus, the other name that has been adopted from the very beginning of the program is Korean Global Leadership Institute – KGLI. Already we are seeing some of the graduates are playing such roles.
