The Master in Intercultural Studies is for those who are serving or preparing to serve in cross-cultural settings. Through an online format students will watch or listen to weekly lectures and presentations, work through reading, writing, and reflection assignments, and participate in class forums and peer review submissions.

Admission Requirements

Applicants who hold a Bachelor of Theology or its equivalent require a total of 34 credits in the Intercultural Studies course program.

Applicants who do not hold a Bachelor of Theology degree or its equivalent are required to take an additional 28 credits in the areas of Bible, theology, and church history for a total of 60 credits. Students can complete these subjects online with MBTS either before, after, or concurrently with the online Intercultural Studies courses.

  • Those who complete the MIS degree are eligible for the Doctor of Missiology program
